Tom Gardener is the scientist turned good guy in this episode. While we all like him for doing the right thing, how bad of a guy was he to begin with?

Well, it depends on how you determine his "past life." He was Torchy Tanner in THE GOOD SAMARITAN, so he was no saint.

A good thread perhaps, if not done already? Norman Thackler and Byron "b b gun" Bisby was the same person too.....Nothing to do with Gardener but worth mentioning. Gardener was a good guy dragged into bad science experiments....he knew when to get out!

And I think Gardener was just ambitious and had made some mistakes. It is one thing to accidentally do something in the lab that goes wrong; but I think he realized that this was going way beyond that...especially after they went to kidnap an FBI man to test him for super soldiers.
