The man, the mayor, the businessman. He seemed to really love his work as a hardware store person, so I have to wonder why he ran for mayor. Doesn't that take time away from his hardware lifestyle? Granted, his hokey attitude may work well in Deerlick Falls, but I don't see why he would have WANTED the position. He can barely focus on his daughter and meeting her man...he would rather talk about hardware. Don't get me wrong...I know this could be a defense mechanism, but still. You think he would have wanted to know how Pam was doing and the like. I know if it were me, I would be ready to analyze Ralph and tear him apart...like a good stereotypical 80s dad. I do love the actor and the character was a neat addition, but I think it was written poorly. He seemed so insignificant and dull next to Pam that it was hard for me to see the two. Granted, I am different from MY parents, but people can see resemblances to SOME degree. What do you all think of him?

It's been a while. But when I first saw this thread, I thought it was about Ralph.

Funny. I think it would have been neat to have Ralph take Pam's name. VERY futuristic for the 80s. Which dad did you like better: The first one or the second one?

I personally don't really remember him well in the Newlywed Game. So I would have to say the first Mr. Davidson.
