I have always loved the episode DREAMS, but one of things that has always made me curious is Ray Buck and the Whitney High Lancers. How did he get Tony, Paco, and Cyler to play basketball and be on a TEAM for crying out loud? Are they getting P.E. credit for this like they got literature for the play? Is Rhonda a cheerleader or what?
I like the idea and it DOES have precedence because of the PLAGUE episode where Ralph is playing with them. However, I think it might be forced. If they are now in THIS mainstream idea of the school, why are they still in Ralph's class?
Anyone else think this is a trifle forced?

I thought Whitney was the Cavaliers and the school Ray had a guy scoping him out for a college was the Lancers. If not... I've got to change a story. But, back OT. It's possible it's a JV team and not varsity, which would make a little more sense than them playing on a varsity team. As far as them being on the team, it depends. At my high school, any high school student who could make it through two-a-days (hell week) could be on the team. They started out as freshman, but you were also auditioning for JV and Varsity as they could move you up. There were no cuts from the teams, unless you caused problems.I do know of one player who was removed from the team during a game because she went on a hissy fit with the coach because I (who was a strong, but not the strongest member of the team) got to play ahead of her in a game. What's this got to do with the trio playing on the team? It teaches teamwork, they do get some credit (gym), and they're showing the school that they are actually cool guys. Rhonda could be a cheerleader, but I think she'd do something more constructive, like help with the scorebooks or something that proves to the coaches she is much more than what people rumor her to be. A cheerleader for her would basically elude that she's easy. Now, I wouldn't see it as such being a part of two squads as mascot this as such, but I've also seen some cheerleaders who would intentionally roll up the hem of their skirt to where the bottom edge of the skirt rested at the bottom of their butt... during the school day. Rhonda, throughout the series, went from looking easy to being a strong student, but I could see someone (student, teacher, etc.) say that.
